Hello and a warm welcome to K9 Elementary.

K9 Elementary is currently looking for a new business partner, we also need help with admin and especially marketing.

We are looking for groomers and dog trainers to use our facility.

Please submit your resume as we will be hiring dog trainers, groomers and pet carers.

​K9 Elementary is currently looking to find a suitable Dog Groomer to work and help fit out the grooming area within the facility.

The Dog Groomer will work with the Day Care facility, but will be independent and will be able to set their own hours and times. Reception and phone service will be provided to take bookings etc. Day care will be provided to your clients, which will allow you to provide a value added service.

There is also the possibility of paid employment in the daycare centre between grooming clients if interested as an option.

Price is negotiable on either a weekly rental or a "per-dog" basis or a combination.

We are looking for an experienced groomer, possibly a mobile groomer, preferably with some clients already on which we can build upon with day care clients for a mutually beneficial arrangement.

​Emma has over 20 years experience training and working with dogs. She has been internationally certified as a detection dog trainer and has studied with the National Dog Trainers Federation. 

Emma has worked as an operational Explosives Detection Dog handler and trainer. She has worked with the Victorian DPI training dogs for pest species detection and has run her own business in pet minding & dog training.

Emma is well versed in a huge range of training techniques and methods. She regularly attends seminars, workshops and training courses including Randy Hares Detection Dog Training and Techniques conducted in Queensland and Medical Alert Dog Training with Debby Kay who wrote the book on Super Sniffers. 

Emma has  also trained detection dog teams with LaTrobe University, Faculty of Science Technology and Engineering, School of Psychological Science for a new research project.

She owns Dutch Shepherds that have trained in Urban Search and Rescue (Omo), Track and Search (Quick-Silver) and of course Nosework for Fun.

She is learning all about what trouble terrier puppies can get up to with Ninja the Jagd (German Hunting) Terrier
​We are interested in versatile open minded individuals willing and able to work smart/hard, to learn,  use their skills, knowledge, common sense and initiative.

You may need to help with a variety of duties including:
-  cleaning and set up of training and play areas
-  daycare suitability assessments,
-  entertaining/supervising/training daycare dogs
-  training of individual dogs and their humans 
-  group classes 
- helping at workshops, this also means you get to attend and further your knowledge and contacts within the dog industry.

You  are available either mornings or afternoons/evenings  and some weekends on a volunteer or casual basis.
You need to be very versatile/adaptable, willing to assists us with pet care, office duties, customer relations,  cleaning (lots of it!), health and safety.

You must have an affinity with animals and their humans and have trained for or worked within  pet care industry, gaining experience with any animal is relevant but in particular dogs.

​Belinda originally hails from Sydney, but don't hold that against her because she has been in Melbourne for the past 8 years.  Belinda has a background in Risk and Compliance in the Financial Services Industry but has now left the office for good.   In preparation for her transition into the world of dogs, Belinda completed a Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services to become a qualified dog trainer.

The Certificate IV includes the following training:

- knowledge of current legislation and guidelines;
- maintaining and monitoring animal health and wellbeing;
- animal behaviours;
- caring for dogs and young animals;
- conditioning animals;
- providing advice to companion animal owners; and
- 100 hours of observation and dog training at a large boarding and training         
   facility.
 
Terry
​Terry is very versatile, she assists us with pet care, customer relations, health and safety and general handy person "stuff".

She has worked within home pet care, gaining experience with dogs, cats, horses, chickens, cows and sheep.

Terry has helped at Scent Dogs Australia workshops sharing many participants training achievements, providing catering for workshops and seminars as well as organising the set up of training areas.

Terry has owned animals her whole life and currently lives with two cats and assists Emma with the care of her two Dutch Shepherds, Omo and Silver and is learning how challenging it is owning and training a Jagd Terrier, Ninja.
